Built in approximately 1850, Cherry Cottage sits centrally within the conservation area of one of the most picturesque villages in Norfolk. Great Massingham dates back to the 5th century and is famous for it’s many fish ponds, said to belong to an Augustinian Priory for rearing carp. Refurbished in 2015, the property offers a cosy and comfortable base from which to explore the county’s many attractions.
A well equipped kitchen with underfloor heating and range cooker looks out onto a fully enclosed garden with patio furniture for alfresco dining or mix some cocktails and relax in the summerhouse. The lounge/diner centres around a solid fuel burner as a focal point, with TV, radio and DVD player. Two tastefully decorated bedrooms also offer TV and ample storage. The bathroom provides both separate shower and bath, with heated towel rails and radiator.
The property is suitable for couples or a small family with children over 14. The second bedroom holds a small double bed. During colder months, the cottage uses a solid fuel central heating system, ample logs and coal are provided. In warmer months, we recommend use of the additional LPG boiler / immersion as alternatives. Unrestricted on street parking is available, alternatively parking is permitted on the adjacent green.
